Government Fund application
1. To strengthen our support to Hong Kong enterprises in developing the Mainland China market, the "Mainland Programme" under the "Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales" enhanced with effect from 1 August 2018:
- Increase cumulative funding ceiling per enterprise: From $500,000 to $1 million
- Increase individual project funding ceiling: From $500,000 to $1 million
- Increase maximum number of projects per enterprise: From 3 projects to 10 projects
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will launch the ASEAN Programme of the “Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestics Sales” on 1 August 2018 to provide funding support to individual non-listed Hong Kong enterprises to enhance their competitiveness and facilitate their business development in the ASEAN markets*. Funding is provided to enterprises on a matching basis with cumulative funding ceiling of $1 million for a maximum of 10 projects. The funding ceiling per project is $1 million.
*ASEAN comprises Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

3. The Patent Application Grant (PAG)
SMEs can apply for patents of their own inventions. For an approved application, a grant of not more than HK$250,000 or 90% of the sum of the total direct cost of the patent application
4. SME Export Marketing Fund
EMF provide grants to SMEs for their participation in export promotion activities, including trade fairs/ exhibitions outside Hong Kong, business missions, setting up or enhancement of a corporate website. Each enterprise may receive EMF grants up to a cumulative limit of $400,000
5. Technology Voucher Programme (TVP)
Each SME may receive a cumulative funding up to $400,000, to subsidize development by appointment, queen and clinic management systems, document management and mobile access systems, electronic inventory management systems, cyber security solutions, data and cloud-based analysis solutions.
6. SME Development Fund
All proposals that are conducive to enhancing the competitiveness of Hong Kong's SMEs in general or in specific sectors are welcome to apply. Examples include seminars, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, research studies, award schemes, codes of best practices, databases, service centres, support facilities and technology demonstration, etc.
The maximum amount of funding support for each approved project is $5 million, or 90% of the approved project expenditure, whichever is the less.
